Important information about the nature and scope of Canvas & Clay wellness workshops.

⚠️ Canvas & Clay wellness workshops are expressive arts and personal enrichment experiences — not licensed therapy, medical treatment, or clinical mental health services. Please read this disclaimer in full before participating.

1. Nature of Services

Canvas & Clay Wellness Workshops, a DBA of Ascended Enterprises LLC, provides creative, sensory-rich expressive arts experiences designed to promote emotional expression, relaxation, personal insight, and stress relief through painting, ceramics, breathwork, and related art-based activities.

Our workshops are:

  • Wellness facilitation and personal enrichment experiences
  • Educational in nature, inspired by principles from Therapeutic Art Life Coaching
  • Designed to support emotional wellness through creative expression
  • Intended for individuals seeking stress relief, community connection, and self-expression

Our workshops are not:

  • Licensed psychotherapy, counseling, or clinical mental health treatment
  • Medical treatment, diagnosis, or medical advice of any kind
  • A substitute for professional mental health care, psychiatric services, or medical services
  • Art therapy as defined and regulated by the American Art Therapy Association (AATA)

2. Facilitator Credentials & Scope of Practice

Canvas & Clay workshops are facilitated by Kennesha Forrest, who holds the following active credentials:

  • Therapeutic Art Life Coach Certification — Accredited, Udemy (April 2024, Certificate No. UC-5804d515-329b-42a0-8b4d-4dba156478f0). This is a coaching certification, not a clinical mental health license.
  • California Licensed Real Estate Agent (Active)
  • California Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator (Active)
  • California Licensed Cosmetologist (Active)
  • California Notary Public (Active)

Kennesha Forrest is not a licensed therapist, licensed counselor, licensed psychologist, licensed clinical social worker, psychiatrist, or medical professional. She does not hold a license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or any clinical health licensing body.

All Canvas & Clay sessions are facilitated within the scope of expressive arts coaching and wellness facilitation — not clinical practice.

Our offerings are inspired by principles from Therapeutic Art Life Coaching and are intended for educational and personal enrichment purposes only. The word "therapeutic" in our materials describes the wellness and enrichment nature of the experience — it does not imply clinical, medical, or psychological therapy.

3. Not a Substitute for Professional Treatment

Canvas & Clay workshops are not a substitute for professional mental health treatment, medical care, or psychological services. If you are experiencing:

  • Symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, or other mental health conditions
  • Suicidal thoughts, self-harm urges, or thoughts of harming others
  • A diagnosed psychiatric condition requiring clinical care
  • Physical or medical symptoms requiring diagnosis or treatment

...you should seek care from a licensed mental health professional or medical provider. Participation in Canvas & Clay workshops is not a replacement for such care.

4. Voluntary Participation

Participation in all Canvas & Clay workshops is entirely voluntary and at the discretion of each individual. No participant is required to share personal information, speak aloud, or engage in any activity that causes discomfort.

By registering for or attending a Canvas & Clay workshop, participants acknowledge and agree that:

  • Canvas & Clay does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice
  • Sessions are wellness facilitation and expressive arts experiences — not clinical services
  • They participate voluntarily and assume personal responsibility for their participation
  • They will notify the facilitator of any physical conditions, injuries, or allergies that may affect their participation

5. Emotional Responses During Sessions

Expressive arts activities can occasionally surface unexpected emotions. Our facilitators are trained to provide a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment. However, our facilitators are not qualified to provide clinical intervention if a participant experiences significant psychological distress.

If you experience distress during a session, our facilitator will offer a calm, supportive presence, offer a break if needed, and provide referral information to professional mental health resources. In any immediate safety concern, emergency services will be contacted.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ascended Enterprises LLC (DBA Canvas & Clay Wellness Workshops), its owner, facilitators, contractors, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from participation in any Canvas & Clay workshop or use of our services, including but not limited to physical injury, emotional distress, or reliance on any information shared during a workshop.

Participants participate in Canvas & Clay workshops at their own risk. This disclaimer does not limit liability for gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
